BOTOX®
BOTOX® can be used for the treatment of frown lines, crow's feet, horizontal forehead lines, corners of the mouth, bunny scrunch
lines, adjust eyebrow shape, soften lip lines, popply chin and excessive perspiration. During treatment a small amount of the BOTOX® is injected into several locations on the face. Frown lines usually require 5 tiny BOTOX® injections. There is a tiny sting and within 15 minutes the treatment is usually completed. After BOTOX® Sonya suggests that you do not engage in any hard physical exercise that day and avoid a facial massage for 1 week. BOTOX® usually takes 3-5 days to see the effect with the full effect at 2 weeks. BOTOX® generally lasts 3-6 months.
The cost of BOTOX® varies depending on the number of units used. BOTOX® is charged at $15 per unit. On average a frown treatment requires 20 units ($300.00) but a brow treatment might only require 8-10units($120-$150). The cost depends on the amount administered and this can vary according to gender, strength of the facial muscles treated the degree of wrinkling and if there is any residual BOTOX® from previous treatments. Sonya will advise you of the exact number of units for you and will discuss the total cost before proceeding. A BOTOX® treatment with Sonya is not about ‘freezing’ your facial expressions but about reducing the signs of ageing and softening the face.

Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are gel-like substances injected into the skin to reduce the signs of aging, to soften wrinkles, to volumize the face and to create naturally beautiful lips. Dermal fillers are most commonly used to treat top lip lines, corners of the mouth, jowls, cheeks, chins, naso-labial folds (the fold from the nose to the corners of the mouth), nasojugal depressions, deep crows feet, frown and forehead lines, sleep lines, smokers lines, smile lines, marionette lines and scars. Dermal fillers in the lips involve treatment in the lip body to enhance the lip size and pout as well as the lip border to define the lips. Dermal fillers can volumise the face to restore the fullness and the cheeks that you use to have.
The latest dermal fillers at Tristram Clinic include a local anaesthetic in the filler, which reduces the pain of injection making the whole process much more relaxing. If necessary a “nerve block” like you can have at the dentist can also be used to completely block any pain. Sonya also uses an anaesthetic cream on other areas of the face.

The cost of dermal fillers depends on the amount of filler injected. Sonya advises most people to focus on the most ageing area first and not treat every area of the face in the first appointment. Generally this involves only using 0.6ml/0.8mls or 1.0ml at their first appointment. Top lip lines generally only require 0.6ml/0.8mls of dermal fillers, which range from $440 to $680. Sonya believes that Lip enhancement should not be over done in the first appointment and advises patients to use 1 to 2mls of product to achieve a natural sensuous lip.
